CFCI

Mission
Helping people transform cities by transforming lives.

Vision
No Place without a Witness
No Church without Vision
No Person without Hope

Purpose
CFCI is a multi-cultural fellowship of God’s people who share common values, theology and ministry philosophy and are committed to the multiplication of churches that impact cities in strategic population centers, beginning in the Latin world.

Christ For the City International
Christ For the City International (CFCI) is an interdenominational, evangelical mission organization with ministries all over Latin America. CFCI has begun branching out to the Eastern Hemisphere, beginning ministries in Spain, Mali and, most recently, exploring ministry opportunities in Asia. Over 75% of our missionaries are Latins ministering in their own countries and communities. Since the needs of each community and country are different, our missionaries are encouraged to match their ministries to the specific needs they see in their communities. This means that Christ For the City International works in a very grassroots, organic way. We don’t have one ministry strategy we use in every country we work in. Our ministries in Mexico look much different than our ministries in Costa Rica or El Salvador because each location is experiencing different problems and different needs. Among the many ministries created by CFCI there are orphanages, a drug rehabilitation center, church support and training, feeding programs in slums, and sports ministries, just to name a few.

History
Christ For the City International began in Costa Rica as a ministry arm of the mission agency Latin American Mission (LAM). CFCI was created to reach out to materially and spiritually impoverished urban areas, providing hope in the form of physical relief and resources, and, most importantly, the Gospel of Christ. As CFCI grew, it branched off from LAM and by 1995 has established itself as its own organization. In 1997, the central administrative office moved to Omaha, Nebraska. Current President, Dr. Duane (Chip) Anderson, came on in 2000 and since that time CFCI has grown to establish bases in 14 countries: Canada, Bolivia, Chile, Costa Rica, Colombia, El Salvador, Mali, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Peru, Spain, the USA and exploring Asia.
